AGCO Announces Fees for Cannabis Retail Applications

In a webinar held this morning, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (“AGCO”) announced the application fees for the three types of licences/authorizations that will be required to legally operate a cannabis retail store in Ontario.

Each licence/authorization will have a separate application process with fees for each application.

The fees for the three types of cannabis retail applications will be:

1.     Retail operator licence: $6,000
2.    Retail store authorization: $4,000
3.    Retail store manager licence: $750

All three licences/authorizations will initially be granted for a two-year term, after which they can be renewed for a period of either two or four years.

The fees for renewal applications will be:

1.     Retail operator licence:

a.     Two-year term: $2,000
b.     Four-year term: $4,000

2.     Retail store authorization:

a.     Two-year term: $3,500
b.     Four-year term: $7,000

3.     Retail manager licence:

a.     Two-year term: $500
b.     Four-year term: $1,000
